Prisoner dilemma game theory is applied in overcoming the "tragedy of the commons" - your writings remind me of this.

In other words, it may be in everyone’s collective advantage to conserve and reinvest in the propagation of a common pool natural resource in order to be able to continue consuming it, but each individual always has an incentive to instead consume as much as possible as quickly as possible, which then depletes the resource.

So most governments now understand the need to "go green" to avoid this problem, and thus finding a monetary system to alternatively incentive cooperative behaviour, instead of non-cooperative.

As yet they haven't achieved this, but I know some aspects of government are using carbon trading in respect of a prisoners’ dilemma game in an attempt to.

All in all, some solid writing Margot!
