Interesting you should say Nash equilibrium contradicts Pareto efficiency — Nash introduced Pareto as a conditioned to be satisfied in The Bargaining Problem (1950).

It’s rich subject matter, and Nash continued to reference Pareto in his later game theory from around the turn of the 21st century, which in itself has become an interesting number! 🙂
